Semitrailers
Semitrailers
We are the creators of the original Hardox half-pipe dump body that has become a classic and industry standard. This design has proven its worth on construction sites across Europe for nearly 20 years. It is available with a great number of equipment options to suit individual requirements. The half-pipe bodies are also available in aluminum to reduce the vehicle's unladen weight to less than 4,500 kg. Our product range also includes high-cube semitrailers with a capacity of up to approximately 75 m³.
Tipper bodies are fitted with steel or aluminum walls. Their length and height can be made to measure according to your specific vehicle. Of course, 'Bordmatik' sidewall lifts are available as well.
To maximize payload for service outside the scope of heavy-duty construction site operation, our tippers are also available as 2-way variants and are also available in full aluminum.

Hardox half-pipe body
The Hardox half-pipe body made by Carnehl – the original!
Since its launch at the Hanover IAA in 1996, this dump body design has become our bestseller and has proven its worth thousands of times. Initially mocked as a "bathtub", this body type soon gained a reputation for its extreme ruggedness, durability and excellent tipping properties. The specific way of mounting the body to the chassis allows the body to elastically yield to the impact of large and heavy objects dumped into it, thereby withstanding extreme shock loads. This design also causes a so-called membrane effect while driving that keeps critical loads from adhering to the body walls during tipping. The body is guided in the chassis along its entire length, resulting in a low center of gravity and therefore optimal driving characteristics.
Our Hardox half-pipe bodies are available with panel thicknesses of 4, 5 and 7 mm and start at an inner height of 1,360 mm. This corresponds to approximately 21 m³ of cargo capacity for a standard body length of 7.4 m.

Half-shell bodies made of aluminum
Soon after the design of the Hardox half-pipe body had established itself in the market, requests calling for more payload kept coming in. Accordingly, the original design was adjusted and extended to include aluminum variants, which have been available since their introduction in 2000. The aluminum dump bodies show the same excellent tipping properties as their steel counterparts, while offering an extra payload of more than 1,100 kg compared to the most lightweight variant made of Hardox steel. The specific design of the body mounts allows the body to elastically yield to the impact of large and heavy objects, and it also causes a so-called membrane effect while driving that keeps critical loads from adhering to the body during tipping. Box bodies
Our semitrailers with box bodies have a cargo capacity of 20 to 41 m³ and are usually made of aluminum hollow-section panels. Thanks to their robustness and durability, our box bodies are particularly popular in the construction industry. Our special sidewall profiles are easily retrofitted with thermal insulation. The bodies meet all specifications without requiring any alterations to their exterior.

High-cube bodies
When talking about high-cube bodies, we are referring to any semitrailer with a capacity of more than 42 m³, regardless of their design as half-pipe or box body or the material they are made of – aluminum or steel. Maximum capacity is 73 m³. The following designs are offered:
- box-shaped body made of aluminum hollow-section panels, e.g. for waste material
- box-shaped body made of beaded aluminum panels, particularly for agricultural goods
- box-shaped body made of beaded steel panels, particularly for scrap material
- half-pipe body made of aluminum ("high-cube aluminum half-pipe body")
- half-pipe body steel body ("high-cube Hardox half-pipe body")
